Server upgrade notice

As we continue to improve our website design services we occasionally have to implement updates that impact on our clients, most updates are done seamlessly and without disruption to ‘up time’. This weekend our entire web hosting is moving to a much larger, quicker and more future proof system called ‘CIRRUS’. Working with our host partners and monitoring on a weekly basis we’ve identified a possible issue with system overload. Why upgrade? We receive twice daily ‘NodeQuery’ system level reports that keep a close eye on the status of your web pages, emails and the server in general. Due to development/usage/activity especially on WordPress accounts the servers have overloaded several...

iphine server stacking emails

Client’s iphones causing problems with emails

We’ve been having a bit of a purge these last few weeks with high volume stacking on our servers. A few clients use WebMail as their main email archive which can cause issues if not managed properly, but the main culprit is the iphone! Androids don’t appear to have the same email management problems iphones have, and when contacting clients identified as high server users it’s nearly always been an iphone causing it. Help is at hand in the shape of our very useful support pages: youraccount.nimbushosting.co.uk/knowledgebase/24/Setting-up-iOS-iPhone-iPad.html but if still unsure you can call anytime. All accounts are now restricted to 500mb and the vast majority of accounts never go...

New anti-spam filter making a big difference

Last week (WE 9/9/16) we put a special offer out to clients who use our email services. It’s in response to the massive increase in targeted spam hitting everyone these day. Following week and one client already has something positive to say: “Morning Nigel. FYI this appears to be working as I have not had any junk so far……saves me so much time. We may even be able to get on with the website.” Wendy, Nicholas Harris Interiors This is the offer… Getting loads of spam? We have a fix! We’ve had a few clients contact us about high spam volumes recently on email accounts (pop3, imap, forwarders hosted by...
