Post comments spam hack on WordPress

Post comments can be a gateway for spam. All posts have a comments option for feedback, when we set up posts for all clients we turn off this comments box to stop spammers adding content. We are now having to change the ‘settings/discussion’ settings to stop hackers adding comments to your posts. Here at Oast House Media we’ve seen an increase in WordPress web design training requests since the Covid 19 pandemic started. Mostly existing clients either requesting a refresh, or taking advantage of the free training session we offer with every new web design. With restrictions in place we use peer to peer on-line training which has proved to be very popular. As we continue to design and launch new websites through the lock-down period, training the client on how to update their new websites had to go on-line. We’ve recently completed a new brochure style website design for Gillingham based electrical wholesaler Priority Electrical (see news post). But with Covid 19 restricting shop footfall, owner Simon Fowler requested a bolt on e-commerce shop. Having already completed the design, adding the Woo-Commerce WordPress shop plug-in and integrating into the PayPal payment system was straight forward, but Priority Electrical already had an extensive digital database for stock control, could it be synchronised with the on-line shop?
