gruba ryba Polish fishing charity logo

Yabba-Dabba Gruba Ryba doooo

Nice change from webby stuff in the design office – request for a logo design for a Polish based children’s fishing charity. Oast House Media were asked to create a ‘cartoon’ style, happy and colourful logo design to be used to promote fishing for under 13s. The final design can be used for all media but specifically in this case for clothing. Soon to be used in Poland we wish the UK based sponsors well What did the client say: “I recently used Oast House Media to design a logo for my charity initiative. From the very first moment they were very professional and helpful . End product was exactly...

Pet cremation website goes live

Sadly we all have to say goodbye to pets at sometime in our lives, a difficult time in any family especially with children parting with their much loved little buddies. Treasured Friends are one of Kent’s premier pet cremation companies and specialise in the care and sympathy required during this sad event. Owner Carl Bolton requested an easy to manage website design that could be updated by staff from their Thanet offices. With a WordPress site already in place but not fully accessible, it was just a case of replicating the design and using all the WordPress functionality that wasn’t available previously. Using our large portfolio of WordPress themes we...

Print design for web clients

Our newsletters help us to let website design clients know we’re not just a one trick pony. Print design has been a core design skill for Oast House Media since it’s creation in 2004. Director Nigel Stevenson originally came from a print design background long before scientist Tim Berners-Lee created the world wide web. Indeed, it is those original skill sets that gives OHM the edge over other web based designers in Kent with extensive print production knowledge and an awareness of life outside the internet especially when it comes to logo design. Working with our local print and print finishing partners, OHM can offer the complete ‘one stop’ media...

Double website commission for existing web design client

Earlier this year we completed the Florin Press website for Graham Williams, a Kent based bespoke printer and wood engravings designer. He must have impressed (no pun intended) as Graham requested a re-design of his personal website: grahamwilliams.co.uk and a new website for international acclaimed constructivist sculptor Naum Gabo: gabo.org.uk Both websites follow a similar simplistic theme using galleries to showcase the work. In the case of the Gabo site we also assisted with the web name purchase and on both sites re-created the logo for web use.

Fireplace shop in Deal, new web design

Oast House Media have worked with many new business start-ups over the years. The Firebox based in Deal, Kent sell and install Stoves and Fireplaces but were not sure how a website design would work for them and how they could keep it up to date. A brief meeting in their beautiful showrooms in Deal helped explain all about WordPress websites, logo conversion (OHM re-designed the logo), Google search engine optimisation and the free WordPress training we offer with all web designs. Having worked with other businesses in the fireplace trades, we knew images were going to be plentiful and very good quality so OHM recommended a gallery style web...

FireBox new web design coming soon

Firebox Kent are a new start-up business based in Deal, just down the road from Oast House Media. The new website is in progress and will go live later this month but to get the Google Bot interested we post these news blogs with a link to the holding page. We also updated their logo design for all media use, in this case without charge as it’s a font based design and took just a few minutes to complete. Long term this will save the client hours/£s of re-design work as we supply the original Ai file and export files for print, signage and web. With the new logo in...

Deal care home new web design

Generals Meadow Care Home in Walmer, Deal was purchased by long term web design clients Bradfield last year. Owner David Johnson asked Oast House media to look into a new web design using the existing old content but with new images. A new logo design was also required to replace the old version and look similar to the Bradfield design to show a corporate identification. The new WordPress web design is fully editable and as the owner already has experience with their Bradfield website, they can commence editing content immediately. The re-design from start to finish only took a week and included a new web name purchase see website: generalsmeadowcarehome.co.uk

Brexit logo – clever design or created in a rush?

Oast House Media have been designing logos for local businesses for over 20 years. It’s not as simple as some of the designs look, for a start they have to reproduce on all media from embroidered workwear, web designs, litho printing to large format posters and signage. Over the years we’ve created some nice work and still see our handiwork on vans, websites and adverts. When we saw the new Brexit logo we were intrigued because even this had raised the eyebrows of the electoral elite. If you voted in the Euro election you would have seen the black/white version of the Brexit logo clearly pointing at the vote box...

New website for Ivy

Neil Carrington contacted Oast House Media earlier in the month requesting a WordPress upgrade for his old static page design (Garden Services) plus a new 4 page website for his new business – Ivy Removal. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of removing ivy from your property you will know it is a gardeners nightmare, but did you know it’s poisonous? It’s also very difficult to completely eradicate, leave one tiny bit of the plant and in the right conditions it will grow back. That’s why Neil identified this niche area in the gardening services market and requested the new website, complimenting the existing services already offer on the main...
