Here at Oast House Media we’ve become increasingly aware of business owners using Wix for their website design, in fact we lost a client recently to the ‘bright light’ that Wix shine on our TV adverts every day.
Wix offer a fantastic low cost web solution and have poured $millions into their infrastructure making it easy to build your own web design, they also offer an array of professionally designed templates and build in some slick on page affects to make your web page stand out – all good so far.
But why are Wix customers contacting OHM for search engine optimisation?
Over the past few years we’ve had several Wix customers contact us about ‘optimising’ their website for Google and other search engines. At first we jumped in with our usual gusto to help, only to find there are very few tools within the Wix control areas to actually optimise web pages.
Sadly, it is very unlikely that you will find a Wix website on page 1 (2 or 3) of a Google search as Google is very clear and emphatic about its requirements and without the right information in the right place you simply fall off the Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).
Is their a fix?
Yes, PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising, but it will cost you, probably more than a WordPress website design. Our WordPress websites are fully optimisable and have a proven record of page 1 and very often placed fist on Google.
For example:
- Our entry level web design with hosting (£450) is £1.23/day (first year, then 45p/day thereafter)
- PPC advertising for a local search could be as much a £20/day
