Having completed Canterbury Umbrella Centre’s new WordPress website, centre manager Anna and assistant manager Hannah were keen to complete their on-site training course. The centre has a busy agenda of events so the new News Blog facility needed urgent attention.
On arrival I gave brief overview of the WordPress dash board having already emailed over their secure log-in info. There are only 3 main areas a client will need a full understanding of: pages, posts, media, but having an idea of what other areas of the content managements system does helps the client get to grips with this easy to use editing suite.
I also explained how to use the built in SEO (search engine optimisation) plug-in and how to write posts for SEO purposes.
This wasn’t so critical for this website as it’s not looking for commercial interest but occasionally they do want to raise awareness of the site services.
The session took about one hour, followed by a very nice lunch from their cafeteria.
Thanks Anna and Hannah for your hospitality and good luck with the good work you do in Canterbury – see case study
